Voter Information
You may vote if you are:

  • A United States Citizen.
  • Are at least 18 years old by Election Day.
  • Are a Resident of Minnesota for 20 days by the election day.
  • Are properly registered.
  • Maintain residence at the address given on the registration form.
  • Are not under court-ordered guardianship of the person where they have not retained the right to vote.
  • Have not been found by a court to be legally incompetent to vote.
  • Have not been convicted of a felony without having civil rights restored.

Registration
Residents who are new to Victoria or have moved since the last election will need to register in order to vote. To register please contact the Carver County Auditor's Office, Chaska License Bureau, or you make pick up a Minnesota Voter Registration Card at Victoria City Hall.

Minnesota State Laws allow voters to register on Election Day however; pre-registration is suggested to avoid potential delays.

To register on Election Day you must prove residency for purposes of registering by the following:

  • By showing a valid Minnesota driver's license, permit or Minnesota identification card or the receipt for any one of these.
  • Showing one document from list A and one document from list B below:
    1. An original bill in your name for gas, electric, telephone, cable television, garbage sanitation, water or sewer services showing your current address and due up to 30 days before or after Election Day; And
    2. Your Minnesota Driver's License or Identification Card, United States Passport, United States Military Identification Card with your photograph, or Minnesota Postsecondary Student Identification Card with your photograph;
      - or -
  • A Voter who is registered to vote in the precinct may sign an oath in the presence of the Election Judge, vouching that the voter personally knows that the individual is a resident of the precinct.
