    Responsibilities

    The Lakes & Water Quality Advisory Committee assists the Victoria Planning Commission and Victoria City Council to protect and improve the water quality of the bodies of water located in Victoria and nearby Laketown Township. This advisory committee has the following responsibilities.
    • Bring emerging water quality issues to the attention of the city council and relevant commissions.
    • Recommend and prioritize projects that impact water quality.
    • Recommend improvements of existing city ordinances to the city council and commissions or agencies that impact water quality, and align with the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District, the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District and other agencies’ rules.
    • Review and provide input for the council to consider regarding the annual budgeting and priority process for each of the various water conservation districts that interact with Victoria.
