Fire Department - Severe Weather Week

SEVERE WEATHER AWARENESS WEEK

The week of April 14-18, 2011 is scheduled to be "Severe Weather Awareness Week" in Minnesota with Thursday, April 23rd designated as the statewide tornado drill day.

Other emphases are: Monday - Thunderstorms, Hail, Straight-line Winds, Lightning

                                   Tuesday - Severe Weather Warning Systems

                                   Wednesday - Floods and Flash Floods

                                   Thursday - Tornado activities - proper sheltering at work,

                                   home and play (Statewide Torndado Drill Day)

This annual observance is designed to encourage citizens to prepare emergency plans both in the workplace and in their own homes for the upcoming severe weather season.
