Group Fitness Classes

UPDATE 

(8/27/20) Per the Governor’s new guidelines put in place, beginning Monday, June 15th, 2020 the Victoria Recreation Center has chosen to provide members and guests a hybrid option of virtual and in-person group fitness opportunities.  The schedule is posted below.

Here are a few things to note about operations and safety:

  • Pre-registration will still be required to attend group fitness classes. Registration closes 24-hours prior to the start of class.

  • Participants will be required to have an active membership, have purchased the All-Access Pass or pay $5 per class (which is due at the time of registration).
  • In-person group fitness will require all participants and instructors to maintain a 6 foot distance from each other and will be held outdoors unless the weather does not allow (the gymnasium will be the back-up location).
    • In-person classes will not have equipment available from the fitness center.  Instructor will provide instructions if anything is required for participant to bring from home.
    • Participants should do a self-screening for COVID-19 symptoms prior to attending in-person classes.
    • Check-in will be with the instructor, do not come into the Victoria Recreation Center unless you require a restroom.
    • All in-person classes will meet in the front parking lot at the VRC.
    • Participants are not required to wear masks as long as a 6-foot distance is maintained.
    • Once class has completed, please disperse.
    • There are no locker rooms available.
    • If you feel sick, please stay home.
  • Virtual group fitness classes will operate in the same manner as today.  Registered participants will receive class codes the day prior to the class.

Who is it for?  EVERYONE! Members, non-members, residents and more. It’s recommended that youth be at least 15 to participate.

How do I participate in Virtual Drop-In Fitness?  We want to bring fitness to you in the safety of your own home. Using Zoom Video Communication our instructors will teach classes virtually. Workouts will be body weight, cardio, yoga, core or similar options for those with no or limited equipment/space available in their homes.

How do I participate?

  • Take a look at the schedule posted weekly and go to this link.
  • Select the class(es) that you plan on attending and register.
  • Individual classes will cost $5 per class or will be free to All-Access Pass holders or active Gold or Platinum members  (must re-activate these memberships by emailing Holly at hkaufhold@ci.victoria.mn.us).  
  • Registrants will be sent a link with a Zoom meeting link to their email and a code to attend the day prior to the class.
  • 10 minutes prior to class you will log into Zoom by clicking on the email provided.

When do I need to register by?  Registration deadline is 24 hours prior to class, after the deadline is when the link will be sent to participants.
