Give Back to the Community

There are a number of ways residents of the City of Victoria can give back to the community and surrounding areas—from volunteering time to donating to those in need. A few opportunities that have a positive impact on our community and beyond are listed below.

Deliver Food to Those in Need of Meals

The Humanity Alliance is hosting a Food Distribution event that is ongoing.. They currently need drivers to deliver meals around the Minneapolis area. Delivery locations include Chaska, Chanhassen, Carver, Waconia, North Minneapolis, South Minneapolis, and St. Paul. There are also opportunities to package and prepare meals.

Drive Community Members to Their Medical Appointments, Grocery Stores, and Food Shelves

WeCAB is in need of drivers to provide transportation for riders to get to their medical appointments, shopping, employment, errands, or other necessary locations.

Help Relieve Hunger in Our Community

Contribute as a volunteer at the Bountiful Basket Food Shelf by picking up donated food, providing client assistance, working the front desk, boxing donated food, or serving on the board.

Provide Basic Necessities for Care Packages That Will Go to Those in Need

In an effort to help those who are experiencing homelessness, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety creates and provides “Care on the Go” packages with basic necessities including toiletries and clothing items. These packages are handed out by the State Patrol, staff from other divisions, and local law enforcement agencies when they encounter someone who is homeless throughout the year, but especially during the winter season.
