New City Manager

Mayor Funk is thrilled that Dana was the unanimous first choice of the council; "I am very happy with the dedication and efforts of all those involved in the process of selecting Dana as our next city manager. I look forward to working with her to help drive our city forward in a positive and meaningful way!" Council Member Deb McMillan adds, “The entire Victoria City Council welcomes Dana as our new city manager. The residents and businesses in Victoria will benefit from her expertise and leadership experience, and we look forward to working with her.”

Ms. Hardie comes to Victoria from the City of Burnsville, where she most recently served as director of administrative services and interim city manager. She has a long career in public service, including over sixteen years in managerial positions with Scott, Blue Earth and Ramsey Counties. Ms. Hardie earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and a masters in public administration at Metropolitan State University in St. Paul.

As a resident of the nearby City of Carver, Ms. Hardie is familiar with Carver County and Victoria. She is an active member of her community, giving her time as a volunteer on the Carver Planning Commission and serving as a board member for Design Carver, a multi-year community visioning process. She is also active in her professional community, serving on several legislative policy committees. She also served as an executive board member on the National Association of Counties’ green government initiative.

Ms. Hardie strongly supports professionalism in the public sector through mentoring activities with Youth in Government and aspiring leaders. She is a member of the Minnesota City/County Management Association, International City Management Association and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.

Ms. Hardie brings to Victoria a proven track record of successfully leading public sector organizations in achieving financial, operational, policy and strategic objectives. She looks forward to bringing her professional skills and expertise, collaborative workstyle and her commitment to superior performance and continuous improvement to the City of Victoria.

With council’s support and shared vision, I am prepared to lead the organization into the future. Together we will work hard to deliver the highest quality service while focusing on transparency, efficiency and financial stability.”
