The Victoria Planning Commission is responsible for advising the Council on land use decisions such as: development, implementation, and amendments to the City’s Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Code, and Subdivision Regulations. The Commission reviews and provides recommendations regarding land use and zoning permit applications, conducts site plan reviews, and reviews proposed residential and commercial developments.
Commissions are citizen-advisory boards responsible for advising the City Council on matters within the commission’s area of expertise. They hold hearings, receive evidence, review reports, and make recommendations to the Council.
The Victoria Planning Commission consists of seven regular members and two alternate members who are appointed by the City Council. The alternate members attend all meetings and participate in the discussion but do not vote unless sitting in for an absent regular member.
Planning Commission Meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. within Victoria City Hall Council Chambers.
