Eat Street

Eat Street

The Victoria City Council embraces a vibrant outdoor dining culture by offering businesses the opportunity to apply for an Eat Street permit. This permit enables businesses to extend their dining areas onto public sidewalks, designated public parking spaces, and private parking lots, creating a lively and inviting atmosphere for patrons.

During the designated period, which typically spans from the last week of May to the last week of September, businesses can make use of the public space in a way that enhances the dining experience for customers. By taking advantage of this program, establishments can create additional seating options, maximize their outdoor space, and contribute to the dynamic and welcoming ambiance of Victoria's streets.

With any questions, contact the Victoria Community & Economic Development Director at jbrewington@ci.victoria.mn.us or 952-443-4219.

Applying for a Permit
Eat Street permits are only issued for one-year and must be renewed annually to continue to utilize public areas for outdoor expanded dining.

Additionally, the Metropolitan Council (Met Council) Environmental Services requires an additional Sewer Availability Charge (SAC) determination form and fee for temporary expanded use of seating and/or.  Businesses should complete the City Eat Street Permit Application and be approved by the City before submitting the SAC determination form with the Met Council.
