Bids and Awarding Contract for the 2023 Street and Drainage Improvements
The 2023 Street and Drainage Improvement project was advertised and WSB, the design engineer, reviewed the bids and recommended the award of the contract go to the lowest responsible bidder, Kusske Construction Co., LLC. The planned improvements consist of reconstructing the street and storm sewer system, including the replacement and addition of concrete curb and gutter, installation of draintile including draintile service stubs, and minor repairs to the sanitary sewer and water system.
Community Impact: The project is to be financed through Chapter 429 assessment Bonds repaid through a combination of property assessments, and the City General Fund along with long-term street maintenance fund, sanitary sewer, and water funds as determined by the finance department.
Funding Update on the Arboretum Area Transportation Plan
In February 2021, the City Council adopted a resolution of support for the Arboretum Area Transportation Plan that was developed over two years through a partnership with Carver County, MnDOT, the Cities of Chanhassen, Victoria, and Chaska, and the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Since the completion of the study, the project partners have pursued the necessary funding to implement the vision developed in the plan. Lyndon Robjent, Director of Public Works for Carver County, gave an update on recent and ongoing efforts during the Council Meeting.
